November in Review

30 November 2013

The month of November seemed to really fly by at our house. Getting ready for the baby and keeping up with the kids made the month disappear before we were ready! Here is a look at our month:

We got Carson's preschool pictures back and he is such a little stud. I think he looks so cute. His class picture cracks me up! All of the kids have the silliest faces and it fits for a group of 3 year olds.

I purchased a General Conference Study Guide from HERE and I love it. I had it bound at Staples and I am using it as I study the talks. It has really helped me think about the talks and apply them.

We had a family home evening of coloring pages that go along with the Family Proclamation. They love coloring so much and it really helps me teach them things during family home evening.
Brooklyn loves breakfast - and she loves syrup even more. She licked the syrup off of her plate one day and it was so funny I had to take a picture.
These two really love bathtime. They would stay in the tub all night if I would let them.
Brooklyn has taken an interest in the potty lately, but she isn't quite ready for potty training. One day she kept asking to go on the potty so I pulled out Carson's froggy potty and let her sit on it. She stayed on it for quite a while and then got off and went potty on the floor next to it. It's a good thing I was in a good mood that day and I just laughed and cleaned it up.
We made handprint Turkeys as a craft one day. They enjoyed picking out the colors for the feathers and of course, making a mess.
Brooklyn and Carson really enjoy playing together. One night Carson insisted on giving Brooklyn a horsey ride. It was pretty funny because they are almost the same size and Carson could hardly move with her on his back.
Carson and Brooklyn love sitting on Jason's legs and having him bounce them. It's so fun for them!
We love popping popcorn and watching movies together. They are so cute. I just love them!
Aren't they adorable?
My friend, Erin, and I like to get together and have baking days. She came over and we made rolls for Thanksgiving and homemade oatmeal cream pies. They were so yummy. Carson helped us roll our the dough and watched as we covered them and let them rise. He talks about it all the time and will pretend to roll out dough and cover it all up. He is my little cooking buddy.
Carson drew this picture of his daddy one day and it was the first time that he has really taken a lot of time to draw something. It was precious to me. One of those things that means my little boy is really growing up.
Brooklyn's hair is getting so long it is ridiculous! She is such a pretty little girl and her hair is very beautiful on her. I love to play with it and try new things. I'm not very good at braiding, but I thought it turned out pretty good one night. It's crazy that she has hair long enough for me to braid at 18 months.

Random Cuteness

24 July 2013

The last few months have been busy for us and we have been trying to enjoy summer and warm weather as much as possible. Here is a little look at what we have been up to:
Typical mess under the high chair once Brooklyn is done eating. It's a constant chore to keep it clean.

Donuts with Daddy!

Melaleuca Zoo day! We never get tired of going to the Zoo. Carson's favorite part is sitting on all of the fake animals.

Lately the kids have been obsessed with my glasses. Carson put on a pair and looked so funny!
Playing the Disneyland game on the XBox with Daddy. Carson loves the game after we have been there and he knows all of the rides.
Carson and Brock are finally getting to the point where they play really great together. It's so fun to watch them become good friends.
This little girl loves the popcorn popping toy at Target and always wants to push it around while we are there. Although its cute while we are in the store, I refuse to buy it. :)
Carson likes to take pictures and will randomly say, "Mom, lets take a picture." I don't mind. He's such a cutie.
Brooklyn found my stash of girl scout cookies one morning and ate an entire package of thin mints. If she wasn't so innocent looking and cute I would have been really mad.

The kids love playing outside and they especially love playing with their water table. It was such a good investment!
One day we played at the park for 3 1/2 hours and Brooklyn fell asleep as soon as she hit the car seat.
Time for some bigger sunglasses!!
Smores for FHE
Snowcones with our cousins!
Carson randomly got the block of cheese from the fridge and took a few bites out of it. Silly kid.

Carousel Museum Exhibit

17 June 2013

The Museum of Idaho normally has really cool exhibits and I love taking the kids to them, but they can be a little bit pricey. The exhibit that was showing for quite a while was a Carousel Exhibit, but it was too expensive for us to go. I ended up getting free tickets from our local newspaper so we decided to go for FHE with Carly and Will. The kids thought it was pretty cool and it was fun to see some of the really old Carousels. They had some of the oldest Carousel pieces left and had some animals from all over the world. It was fascinating to see which animals different countries used and the reasons behind them. Carson and Brooklyn even got to ride one at the very end, which they both loved.

Super Hero Night

12 April 2013

The first Monday of every month, Chick-Fil-A does a family night. April's family night was Super Hero Night and I decided to take the kids, even though it was the same day that Carson had his dental work done. Good choice. We had already eaten dinner at home so we just went for some ice cream.
We got there and Carson was given a cape and a mask (he chose the Hulk mask) and he got to put toppings on his ice cream. Then we went outside and he jumped his little heart out in the bounce house. He loves those things! He was laughing and having a great time. Brooklyn and I just hung out in the lawn chair eating his ice cream.

While Carson was in the bounce house having a blast, Spiderman and Batman appeared!! Carson shot out of the house so fast and ran to them. It was the cutest thing and totally made his day week. He just wanted to hang out with them and talk to them all night. When it was time for us to leave he had to go find Spiderman and Batman again to say goodbye. Spiderman even let him spray the silly string he was carrying with him. The kid was in heaven.

Since it was FHE night, we talked on the car ride home and for a few minutes later that night about Super Heros and how Jesus Christ is the best "Hero" of them all because He saved all mankind. It might have been a stretch, but I think my 2 year old son understood what I was trying to teach him. Later that night I was taking something out of the oven and put on my red oven mitt. Carson screamed, "Mom, you look like Spiderman!!" I sure do love my little sweetheart and I love all the little things that make his world go round.

Dying Easter Eggs - FHE

06 April 2013

The Sunday before Easter we had our FHE after church. Sometimes we have to have FHE on Sunday if we know that Jason won't be home on Monday. Carson found the egg dying kits a week earlier and had been asking everyday to "do the eggs." He really thought it was cool and was so excited when he saw the eggs turn different colors. We didn't do any crazy eggs this year - just plain colors. It was less of a mess to clean up and Carson didn't know the difference.
This is how Brooklyn dyes eggs
Dying eggs is very hard work

Loving on my sweet little girl
Loving his colored eggs!
I think holidays are so much more fun when you have kids. They enjoy even the simplest of things and their pure joy and excitement is contagious. I just love my kiddos. Thanks, Carson, for making dying eggs so much fun.
