November in Review

30 November 2013

The month of November seemed to really fly by at our house. Getting ready for the baby and keeping up with the kids made the month disappear before we were ready! Here is a look at our month:

We got Carson's preschool pictures back and he is such a little stud. I think he looks so cute. His class picture cracks me up! All of the kids have the silliest faces and it fits for a group of 3 year olds.

I purchased a General Conference Study Guide from HERE and I love it. I had it bound at Staples and I am using it as I study the talks. It has really helped me think about the talks and apply them.

We had a family home evening of coloring pages that go along with the Family Proclamation. They love coloring so much and it really helps me teach them things during family home evening.
Brooklyn loves breakfast - and she loves syrup even more. She licked the syrup off of her plate one day and it was so funny I had to take a picture.
These two really love bathtime. They would stay in the tub all night if I would let them.
Brooklyn has taken an interest in the potty lately, but she isn't quite ready for potty training. One day she kept asking to go on the potty so I pulled out Carson's froggy potty and let her sit on it. She stayed on it for quite a while and then got off and went potty on the floor next to it. It's a good thing I was in a good mood that day and I just laughed and cleaned it up.
We made handprint Turkeys as a craft one day. They enjoyed picking out the colors for the feathers and of course, making a mess.
Brooklyn and Carson really enjoy playing together. One night Carson insisted on giving Brooklyn a horsey ride. It was pretty funny because they are almost the same size and Carson could hardly move with her on his back.
Carson and Brooklyn love sitting on Jason's legs and having him bounce them. It's so fun for them!
We love popping popcorn and watching movies together. They are so cute. I just love them!
Aren't they adorable?
My friend, Erin, and I like to get together and have baking days. She came over and we made rolls for Thanksgiving and homemade oatmeal cream pies. They were so yummy. Carson helped us roll our the dough and watched as we covered them and let them rise. He talks about it all the time and will pretend to roll out dough and cover it all up. He is my little cooking buddy.
Carson drew this picture of his daddy one day and it was the first time that he has really taken a lot of time to draw something. It was precious to me. One of those things that means my little boy is really growing up.
Brooklyn's hair is getting so long it is ridiculous! She is such a pretty little girl and her hair is very beautiful on her. I love to play with it and try new things. I'm not very good at braiding, but I thought it turned out pretty good one night. It's crazy that she has hair long enough for me to braid at 18 months.

Family Pictures 2013

09 November 2013

I debated on whether or not we should get family pictures taken this year because I was 8 months pregnant and they pictures would almost instantly be outdated. We normally have pictures taken every fall, but I wondered if we should just skip this year. The more I got to thinking about it, the more I thought we should just do it. Carson and Brooklyn are only going to be this age NOW and you can never have enough pictures, in my opinion. So, we had CeeCee Photography take some family pictures of us and I think they turned out great. Brooklyn was a stinker for the first 90% of the session and wouldn't smile or let me put her down. She only calmed down at the end when we had Carson and her sing "Ring Around the Rosie," which actually turned out to be one of my favorite pictures of them. I love my sweet little family and I am so blessed to call them mine.

Halloween

02 November 2013

Halloween this year was lots of fun. Carson dressed up like Mike Wazowski from Monsters University and Brooklyn was Boo from Monsters Inc. They both looked adorable and thought it was so cool. We started off by going to daddy's work for the Trick-or-Treat walk through the day before Halloween. The kids get to walk through the entire Melaleuca Home Office and collect candy. Each department decorates and hands out candy as the kids walk through. It is a lot of fun and I think it is the kids' favorite part about Halloween. They get lots of candy, its warm and inside, and they get to visit Daddy's work.
The amount of candy they got from Melaleuca this year was ridiculous! Between the two of them we completely filled up our huge Halloween candy bowl. They got a total of 14 full-sized candy bars that weren't even in the bowl when I took the picture. I had to sneakily get rid of candy (including giving it away at the door) and saved a lot for gingerbread houses.
The morning of Halloween we woke the kids up early and took them to breakfast at IHOP. They were giving away free jack-o-lantern pancakes for the kids and Jason had a free breakfast for his birthday that week. We took the kiddos in their jammies and they were so excited.
Later that morning I took the kids to I-Jump for their Halloween party. The kids got in at a discounted rate if they wore their costumes. We were the only ones there for a long time, so the kids had the whole place to themselves. They love I-Jump because they can run, jump, scream, yell, and throw balls at each other. I love it because they get out all of their energy and normally crash for a few hours later that day.
That night we went trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. We would drive the van, get out and go to a few doors, and then drive the van a little more. It was FREEZING cold that night so we didn't stay out very long. Carson's friend, Maddie, came with us and they had lots of fun yelling, "Trick-or-Treat!" when people opened the door.
The older my kids get the more fun the holidays get too. Halloween was no exception this year. We all had a blast!
