Melaleuca Company Picnic

22 July 2012

This year at the company picnic, Jason was in the manager paintball event. Melaleuca has a course set up with flags and the managers have to collect as many flags as possible while their employees are shooting at them with paintball guns. It is very entertaining to watch, but not so fun for those being shot at. Jason did really well and got a ton of flags and only had 18 welts from the paintballs. It could have been a lot worse, but we tried to suit him up with some good armor beforehand.
The kids and I were pretty much without Jason the entire picnic since he had to carve a pig and then do the paintball right after that. I was really lucky to have Carly and Will there to help me with Carson. He got to ride his first pony and play on all of the blow up toys. He had a blast!! Brooklyn and I pretty much stayed under the tent since it was so hot and she still wasn't feeling very good. Poor little girl!!

Carson's favorite ride was the swings. He wanted to ride it over and over and over. Last year at the picnic he was so little in the swings!!! He looked so grown up this year!!
We are so luck to work for such a great company and we always have a blast at their picnics! Thanks, Melaleuca!

When my parents were here, Carson and Papa played a lot! I love how much fun my parents have with my kids. It makes my heart happy! I wish I would have gotten more pictures of them playing! On the last morning my parents were here, Carson and Papa played with his new bubbles and with his bag that sang "Happy Birthday" to him. When it came time for my parents to leave, Carson cried and cried! We stood in the driveway while they pulled out and Carson waved and cried for about 20 minutes before I could distract him. Poor little guy! I wish we didn't live so far away!
I've been trying really hard to spend more time playing with Carson this week since he hasn't been getting a lot of attention since Brooklyn came along. I saw a blog where a mom posted a challenge to spend 30 minutes a day playing WITH your kids for 30 days. I'm really good about watching Carson play, but not so good at actually getting out there and playing with him. I'm going to try and be better about doing things WITH him. :)

This week we spent a lot of time playing with his froggy pool.
Wearing his "monster" hat that Nana and Papa got him for his birthday while we went to Walmart.
This cute little thing has the craziest hair ever!
He found this fireman hat downstairs and loves to put it on. He also likes to try and put it on Brooklyn.

We got Carson a lot of balloons for his birthday and he LOVES them! This whole week he has played with them everyday! One morning he carried them with him everywhere he went around the house. It was hilarious! He would talk to them and play with them like they were his friends. He even fell asleep next to them on the floor. :)

Fun with the Parents

Jason's parents got to come visit us for the 4th of July, Carson's birthday, and Brooklyn's blessing. While they were here, Jason went shooting with his parents, Zach, Will, and Carson. They had a blast! Here are some pictures from their little adventure!

Jason's parents have never been to Texas Roadhouse so we went there for dinner one night. Carson loved the cowboy hat and saddle you can sit on while you wait to be seated. Grandpa also showed him how to eat peanuts!

And who can forget this sweet little face.....

Brooklyn's Blessing

13 July 2012

We were able to bless Brooklyn on the 8th while both sides of our family were here. She looked so cute and Jason did such a good job with the blessing. I am so grateful to have a husband who holds the Priesthood and is able to bless our children. It was so nice to have all of our family here to share Brooklyn's special day with.

Cow Appreciation

Today was cow appreciation day at Chik-Fil-A and Carson and I dressed up like cows! I used Carson's Zebra halloween costume and taped spots on him. They dropped cows from the sky from a helicopter and if you caught one you got free meals for a year. We didn't catch one (too crazy with 2 kids), but we got free meals for dressing up! Yay!

4th of July

11 July 2012

On the 4th of July we all got up early and went to the parade in Idaho Falls! Jason and his dad went early and saved us seats and the rest of us met them there as the parade was starting. We all had to dress in red, white, and blue of course! I tried to take some pictures of my kiddos in their cute outfits, but Brooklyn wouldn't stop screaming. Something about her brother close to her makes her a little anxious.... :)
Carson LOVED the parade. He would wave to everyone and dance anytime there was music. It was really cute. It made the whole thing worth it!
Waving at the horses!

All of us getting ready for the parade to start
That evening we went down to the greenbelt to watch the Melaleuca Fireworks. Neither one of our kids got a nap that day, which turned into a lot of "fun" waiting for the fireworks to start. Add that to the temperature of 102 I had all day (I had a temp of 100-105 that entire week) and it made for a grand time! Haha!
Attempt #1 at a family picture
Attempt #2 at a family picture

My mom bought all the kids glow sticks and they had fun with them once it got dark!
The fireworks were, of course, amazing. Carson instantly got scared and wanted to sit on my lap. He then promptly fell asleep. I don't know how my kids can sleep through a really loud firework display but they can't sleep at home....go figure. :)

This picture was in the paper the next morning. I thought it was pretty cool.

Carson is 2!!

10 July 2012

I can't believe that my little boy is 2 years old!! At the same time, he talks so well that sometimes I forget he is so little and still learning! Jason and I woke up early and decorated the hallway with streamers for him when he woke up. He didn't know what to do when he saw them. He kept looking through all of the holes and say, "Cheese!" He finally figured it out and tore down all the streamers, and then proceeded to run through the whole house with them.

I asked Carson what kind of birthday party he wanted and he said, "Mickey Mouse!" Right now he really likes watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and doing the "hotdog" dance. I took him with me to get the decorations for his party and he thought that was pretty cool.
Carson got spoiled by all of his family and friends for his birthday. He got some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse movies, lots of clothes, new shoes, a bubble gun, a froggy towel, toys from his friend Noah, and a Cars racetrack from Mommy and Daddy.
When we were opening presents he was more excited about the giftbag that sang happy birthday and had candles that lit up then he was about his gifts! It was pretty funny.
Grandma Leslie bought a Pinata for his birthday party and Carson and his cousins had fun hitting it. It was pretty funny to watch Carson figure out that candy was falling out of it! Once he realized that there was no holding him back when it would start to come out!
Carson got his very own birthday cake to destroy while the rest of us ate the other cake. He sure was messy when he was done!!
Carson really enjoyed having everyone sing "Happy Birthday" to him. He kept smiling and looking at everyone and then quickly blew out the candles.
Carson and Daddy like to play with the racetrack he got for his birthday.
I can't believe you are growing up so fast! Mommy and Daddy love you sooooo much!
