Brooklyn's Birthday Party

23 July 2013

I know this is super late, but it's better than never! Brooklyn turned 1 on May 31st. We just had a small celebration for our little family that night since we weren't having her "family party" until the next week when my mom could be here. We ate Spaghetti (her favorite) and homemade raspberry lemonade cupcakes the night of her birthday. She loved them both.:)

The next week we had her family party. She got spoiled with a stroller and baby, a castle, a bouncy ball, squeaky shoes, new sippy cups, and lots of love.

Brooklyn's cake turned out amazing. She had her own little cake and everyone else devoured the big cake. After practicing on the cupcake a few nights before, she knew exactly what to do with the cake.

Poor Carson fell asleep right before her party started and missed the entire celebration! I debated waking him up and I really wish we would have. The next morning he was so sad that he didn't get to sing "Happy Birthday" to his little sister and have cake. I let him have cake and ice cream for breakfast, he wore a party hat, and he sang to his sister. He sure does love her and they are becoming the best of friends.

We sure do love our little Miss. She has a huge attitude and is 1 going on 16. I can already tell she is going to give us a run for our money. She is constantly moving and is super smart for her age. At her 1 year check-up the doctor said she already does everything an 18 month old would be doing and has the personality of a toddler. Yes, I know. He was amazed at her vocabulary and her ability to understand and follow directions.
Here were her stats:
Height: 29 inches - 42%
Weight: 19 lbs 10 oz - 47%
Head: 18 inches - 72%

9 months already?!?

12 March 2013

My little sweetie is 9 months old!! I can't believe how fast time flies. We went in for her appointment today and she was all smiles. She must have known that she didn't have to get shots today.
Weight: 16 lbs 12 ounces - 22%
Height: 27 inches - 19%
Head: 17 1/2 inches - 63%
This little girl is so fun to be around. She is such a fast crawler and is trying to walk on her own. She loves her mommy and will follow me around the house. Her favorite thing is for me to hold her. She loves water. Bath time is her favorite time of day and when we went swimming she was in heaven. She likes to drop things and then say "uh-oh!" She likes to eat real food and loves playing with Carson. She has a little attitude and getting her dressed or changing her diaper is a 3 person job. Right now she has 3 1/2 teeth. One of her top teeth has taken forever to come through and it looks pretty funny. Her hair is out of control and it's a struggle to get her to let me fix it. She is pretty much sleeping through the night now, which is great. We really love our little girl!! Everyday is a new adventure and I'm looking forward to seeing her grow.

4 month check-up

02 October 2012

Today was Brooklyn's 4 month check-up! I can't believe she is already that old! Here are her stats:
Weight: 12 lbs - 9%
Height: 23 1/2 inches - 13%
Head: 16 inches - 52%

Brooklyn must have known she was going to get shots, because she just wanted to snuggle while we waited for the doctor.
I had to take a couple of pictures of her because her hair was out of control! It stands straight up if I don't calm it down in the mornings.

She was such a trooper getting her shots. She cried for a few minutes, but then she was just fine! She is really starting to find her voice and loves to coo and babble. She smiles and laughs a lot, especially if Carson is playing with her or if mommy tickles her. She lights up when mommy or daddy walk into the room. She still wakes up quite a bit at night.... sometimes every two hours. She has been on a schedule now during the day which has helped both her and I, but hasn't seemed to help her nighttime schedule yet. I'm hoping she grows out of it soon. We just love our little girl!!
